Amiens

Amiens is a cathedral, the hortillonnages (floating gardens), a belfry, the auditorium “Cirque Jules-Verne” , the Museum of Picardie, a zoo, some parks and so on and so forth…Without forgetting the unmissable quarter Saint-Leu where you can eat well (and drink as well !). With more than 132 000 inhabitants, Amiens is a city full of history. Indeed, although the city has been founded in the Antiquity, Human being was already present during the prehistory ! (the Acheulian period is named after the quarter of Saint-Acheul in Amiens). Amiens has been at the heart of numerous wars throughout the centuries against the neighbouring countries. The golden age of Amiens is the Middle-Age. In fact, since XIII century Amiens has been witnessing a lightning development thanks to the trade of the woad (waide in the dialect of Picardie). This plant allows, after grinding and drying its leaves, to dye fabric blue. Just keep in mind that this city welcomed as well one of the most known writers of XIX century, that is Jules Verne. Today, it shows up as a varied, dynamic and festive city with its numerous events : the Grandes Réderies (open air bric-a-brac markets) in spring and autumn, which receive 80 000 visitors each time ; the town festival in June, the International Film Festival, the Christmas markets and all year round several exhibitions, concerts, fairs, shows and sport events. In Somme, it is good living here ! Amiens deserves your visit, let it surprise you !

Who i am ?

During my studies of Art history in Amiens, I took advantage of the program Erasmus to study one year in Naples. I had the opportunity to work for Napoli Sotterranea as a guide for the first time from 2013 till 2014. I discovered the job and at once : I suddenly loved it !

When I came back in France, I did a professional training in Boulogne-sur-Mer to obtain my national guide licence in 2015. After that, I worked nine months as a guide in a house of champagne for the group Vranken Pommery Monopole in Reims.
